Episode 46:  Closing a 1,275 Unit Deal: Advice from a Syndication Powerhouse

Upon learning about the syndication model when his company was hired to work on a multifamily job site for another investor, Jorge Abreu decided to dive straight in.  In the past three years, Jorge has rapidly scaled his business and is currently invested in more than 3,200 doors and has a goal of reaching 10,000 doors by the end of 2021.  In this episode, we talk about his reason for switching to the syndication model, his critical scaling variable, and his outlook on the multifamily industry given the current economic environment.

I've been Investing in Real Estate for over 14 years now. I started in Single Family and small Multifamily properties. I've wholesaled over 200+ Properties, Fixed & Flipped over 100+ properties and developed several new construction projects, over $8M in ground up. For the past 3 years I've been sole focused on large Multifamily properties. I am currently an Active & Passive Full Time Multifamily Real Estate Investor. I have 1,720 Doors on the GP side & over 1,400+ doors on the LP side. I currently have another 850 Doors under contract on the GP side as well. I am the CEO of Elevate Commercial Investment Group. I also own a construction company, JNT Construction, that focuses on helping Multifamily Investors with their full renovations. I am based out of Dallas & currently own properties throughout Texas & Oklahoma but open to other areas as well. Strong points are Locating Deals, Due Diligence, Executing CapEx & Raising Equity.

My goal is to reach 10,000 doors by the end of 2021 by creating strategic partnerships & implementing the proper systems in place for scalability. I'm focused on continuing to grow my network and locate more Co-GP Partners, Passive Investors and also clients for my construction company. I'm always looking forward to adding value and helping others reach their goals.

Dion Huey is a Co-founder at Delta Bridge Capital LLC which is a multifamily real estate investment company that invests in value-add apartment communities in the United States. He earned a master's degree in finance at Northeastern University in 2017 and worked on multiple business syndications as a financial analyst for Boston-based Plateau Asset Management which is a private equity search fund that has $30 million AUM. In 2017, Dion was an analyst on a deal team that advised Citic Investment Bank's Hong Kong private equity division on the syndication of a $1.5 billion acquisition of a hotel in New York. He is currently the host of The Multifamily Investor Situation Room Podcast.

In 2010 he co-founded Rocky Mountain Education and Technology Group which is a Beijing-based education services company that has serviced more than 5,000 clients.
